My Story

When I look back at some of my own personal experiences with massage or spa environments that I’ve visited over the years, I remember the few times where either a massage therapist, spa establishment or patrons made offhand homophobic remarks or their attitudes were homophobic in nature.  This made me feel uncomfortable, unsafe, vulnerable and in general, treated in a way that made me feel like I did not belong there, leaving feeling bad about my experience and never to return or recommend.

I made my decision to end my 30-year Retail career in March 2024 after my 11 year sabbatical and decided to start over into a new field.  I realized I didn’t want to go back to what I was doing but wanted to find something more meaningful, something I was excited about & helping others.  I still wanted to work with people but made who may have experienced similar situations and be a change agent.  Trusting someone with your body can feel impossible when you don't feel comfortable enough to advocate for yourself, or if you have experienced trauma, or when you already feel unsafe in this world, as so many of us do.

I particularly see a need for sensitivity and empathy when working with my LGBTQ+ community.  I have seen and firsthand experienced how much the struggle can be with trying to find safety in day-to-day situations, and I can only imagine how complicated it would be for them to schedule a massage.  My goal is to make bodywork as accessible as possible to the people who need it the most  and may not otherwise feel comfortable seeking bodywork.

My Approach to Therapeutic Bodywork

As massage therapists, we are called to serve others from a place of compassion and healing.

Taking the time to listen to each client's massage goals, curating a session specifically for their needs, and approaching them with an open heart and an open mind is how we should be treating every client who walks through our doors every day with the same level or professionalism and respect, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

I am proud to be an independent, LGBTQ+ gay-owned business that treats and accepts all peoples and be able to provide a safe place for our queer community to receive bodywork.  And although my client base is predominately queer to support the greater LGTBQ+ community, it will not be limited to and I am honored to accept all.

All are welcome!

The beneficial effects of Massage Therapy

The benefits of massage therapy are numerous and are based on the physiological effects that touch and physical contact impart through the various techniques. The body releases endorphins, neurotransmitters or chemicals, which reduce the sensation of pain and induces a feeling of calmness.

  • Provides nurturing touch and makes you feel great!

  • Induces relation of the whole body and overall sense of well-being.

  • Massage acts as a mechanical cleanser, stimulating blood flow & lymph circulation, hastening the elimination of metabolic wastes and toxic debris.

  • Enhances & promotes quality, restful sleep, reducing anxiety, depression, stress and tension.

  • Massage provides and environment for self-appreciation, nurturing & enhances positive self-image.
